The American Transmission Company (ATC) is proposing to build a 345-kilovolt high voltage power line (Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line) from Middleton to Dubuque County, Iowa. The preliminary corridors for the power line include one that runs through the western part of the Town of Springdale. The town board formed a committee SCURE (Springdale Committee on Utilities in Rural Environment) to study the potential impacts the proposed transmission line running through Springdale would have on the town and its residents. The committee typically meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Springdale Town Hall (please check the posted Town calendar to confirm), and all interested citizens are welcome to attend.
